M. Daniel Smith – Founder, Producer, Director
A graduate with honors from the prestigious New York University Tisch School of the Arts, Kanbar Institute of Film and Television, Smith has directed and edited films and videos for over 10 years. He has created videos for high tech companies, foundations, community centers, schools and camps, across the United States and in Israel. Smith is an accomplished narrative and documentary filmmaker whose films have played in over 45 festivals around the world including the USA, Canada, Australia, Austria, Hong Kong, and Argentina. The wide appeal of Smith’s work – his ability to make quality films that impact people from many different backgrounds and countries – is especially important to companies and institutions that deal with an international clientele.
Eli Veffer – Director, Editor, Senior Effects Artist
Born in Jerusalem, Eli Veffer spent his formative years in Toronto, Canada where he started his work in video production. An experienced cameraman, editor, and animator, Eli is always up for a challenge. More recently, Eli has focused on his 3D animation work in After Effects and Maya, creating logo animations and short films. Eli loves pushing the limits of his creative and technical ability on every project, taking each video as an opportunity to break new ground and explore new possibilities.
Sivan Felder – Director, Editor, Writer, Animator
Sivan Felder has always loved movie-making. That love changed from hobby to career when she made her first film five years ago for a marathon in memory of her father, o’h. In addition to the $35,000 the movie and marathon helped raise, Sivan realized the power of film to express ideas and influence others. A student of social work, New Jersey-born Sivan worked as a video editor, wedding and promo videographer. Since joining Shoot East, Sivan has been involved in every aspect of production.
Sharon Katz – Production Manager
A former editor of The Hollywood Reporter, Show Business Newspaper and Voices Magazine, Sharon Katz graduated Phi Beta Kappa from New York University in Journalism. Sharon also served as Associate Director of Publicity for the Astoria Motion Picture and Television Center (currently the Kaufman Astoria Studios). In addition to her addiction to the written word, Sharon is the founder of two performance companies, Raise Your Spirits Theatre (now in its twelfth year) and the Dames of the Dance (now in its seventh year). Sharon has produced eleven shows, co-written three musical comedies, and has performed on-stage in fourteen productions. As production manager of Shoot East, Sharon keeps the industry’s most innovative and creative production team on schedule and on their toes (even if they don’t dance…yet).
Meirav Golubev – Project Manager
Meirav honed her skills for Project Management in the Ukraine, as project manager for an IT company. Since Meirav’s move to Israel in 2013 with her husband and three children, she has continued her work in project management, as well as public relations and marketing. As Project Manager of Shoot East, Meirav ensures that our continually expanding production workflow remains smooth. She keeps the Shoot East gears oiled – distributing tasks, reviewing office organization, and keeping our clients updated on their progress.
Sasha Gorev – Cameraman
Sasha Gorev is an accomplished director of photography working in Israel, Moscow, and the US. With a foundation in still photography and studio photography, Sasha brings his unique talents in lighting and composition to every project. Whether working in narrative or documentary, Sasha always pushes himself to capture powerful, inspiring images.
